Thank You and A Joss & Main Sale!

So, I could not start today’s post without a thank you.

Thank you for your prayers, encouragement and kindness.

Thank you for allowing my husband to see what a kind and generous community this is.

thank you

I am  so thankful that so many of your shared your stories, here and on Facebook. It was so nice to see such a personal side of each of you.  I will be taking time this weekend with a cup of coffee to go through and respond to them all.

So while we figure out what Hubby’s new dream will be, I will remind you that my dream has always been to have my own little shop some day.  I used to sketch out my shop on paper when I was about 12.  It was going to be in an old abandoned building in Westwood, NJ that was shaped like the Flatiron building.

And I was going to sell scrunchies.

Probably not the best business plan ever – but hey, I was 12 and it was the 80’s.

The story of a gallery wall & a brooklyn bank

The story of a Gallery Wall

So, if you have read this blog for any length of time, you already know that I love a good story.

A story about a person, how they got to be where they are.  The story of their journey.

Heck, that is what I am trying to do here – share the story of our journey.

But, I must admit, I also love the story behind an item.

Where did it come from?  Who made it?  How did you find it?

Just this weekend I saw this amazing sign in a vendor’s booth.  I asked her what the story was.

She didn’t know.

I lost interest.

She should probably make up a really good one.

I have a reputation.

It is true.

A reputation for being willing to take in long forgotten items with a little wear, maybe even some rust.

In fact, just this Sunday, as we went to leave the church parking lot – a friend stopped her car and waved me down so her husband could give me the old metal bucket he had saved for me.

It was one of the sweetest things someone had done for me in a long time.

10 DIY Decorating Ideas – Monday Funday

Monday-Funday-Features copy

Hello friends!

I hope this post finds you well relaxed and rejuvenated from the weekend.

We have been knee deep in projects for #operationofficeredo !  I love to craft, I love to decorate, I love to create – but full on DIY is not our biggest strength.  But we are bound and determined!

home depot wood

We had all of the wood cut by our new best friend, Ron of Home Depot.  Can you believe he made all of these cuts?

And after some trial and error with some new tools – I am proud to say we have built a box!!

I know, extraordinary!  But not to worry, it is not just a box – it is the beginning of a built-in desk for one whole wall.

Finger crossed it all goes well.  If you want to follow along, you can find updates on Instagram as well as Facebook and Twitter.  I will be using the hashtag #operationofficeredo.

And now to Monday Funday!
