Easy Watercolor Art Using Painter's Tape

Sometimes a project should just be easy and simple.  So, last Saturday morning, we once again broke out the watercolor paints.  I kind of have a thing for watercolor paint these days.

There is just something so soft, ethereal and elementary about it.

And so, while my girl Peanut painted a picture of a doll (she is obviously more talented that I am!), I decided to try an easy canvas for our office gallery wall.

I have a reputation.

It is true.

A reputation for being willing to take in long forgotten items with a little wear, maybe even some rust.

In fact, just this Sunday, as we went to leave the church parking lot – a friend stopped her car and waved me down so her husband could give me the old metal bucket he had saved for me.

It was one of the sweetest things someone had done for me in a long time.

Some of my favorite projects never end up how they start – and my vintage yardstick arrow is one of those projects.

You see, I was working on my new gallery wall for our office.  I already shared the printer’s box word art I created.

Sometimes projects are really hard and time consuming.

But this project – Printer’s Box Word Art – was as easy as it gets.

The only time consuming part was figuring out the easiest way to do it.

Galvanized Plumbing Material Succulent Garden

Galvanized Plumbing Material Succulent Garden from Finding Home

Today I want to share with you a succulent garden I made using galvanized plumbing material.

But first, there is story as to how I got here…

Last week, my girlfriend texted me right about the time my daughter’s bus arrives.  Normally, that would not be an issue, but in this case – I was still asleep.

Yup, totally overslept.  I was out cold.  Swore I set an alarm.  Didn’t.

Normally, it wouldn’t be a big deal – just drive her to school and hope we make it on time.

But that day – was state testing.  The final day of state testing.  I should point out that we missed the bus the first day of state testing as well.

Bringing the Beach Home with Outshine Fruit Pops

OutshineFrozenFruitBars_thumb.jpg

I have a secret to tell you. I really don’t like desserts.

I know, shocking.

Don’t let me mislead you, I have plenty of bad eating habits on the salty side of things, but I usually pass over the dessert tables.

I just find them too rich and sweet.

But ice pops, they are my weakness.

Low-Calorie-Treats

At the beach where we go for vacation, every hour or so, the ice cream man (or lady) treks up onto the beach, block by block, and rings their bell. And the kids go running.

We never head to the beach without sunscreen or cash in our pockets.

My kids come running out of the water, grab the strategically placed money and head for the truck. They never stop to ask to ask Mom what she wants.

They already know.

Mom wants whatever type of fruity ice pop they have.

How to Make Homemade Goats Milk Soap

TutorialHomemadeGoatsMilkSoap_thumb.jpg

Tutorial - How to make homemade goats milk soap from Finding Home (findinghomeonline.com)

Today, I would like to share with you how I made homemade goats milk soap.

But first, I have to make a confession.

I am a scent snob.

I try not to be, but it is true.

I bring home all kind of things that smell yummy in the store, but when I get home…, well my sister always gets them.

But there are two scents I love always.

Lemon Verbena and Lavender.

And if they are mixed – even better.

So I decided I would try my hand at making my own soap – in my favorite scents.

And if it is going to smelly yummy, it may as well feel yummy too, so I made it with goats milk soap ingredients.

And it could not have been any easier.
