Well, today is the day that A Bowl Full of Lemons Parade of Homes tour makes it last stop. And the last stop is here at Finding Home. I want to thank Toni for putting together such a lovely tour of homes and allowing me to participate.
If this is your first time visiting, welcome. I hope you enjoy your stay.
My name is Laura and I live in the Hudson Valley of New York with my thoughtful husband of 16 years, our two fun daughters who are 8 and 10, and our goofy dog Bailey.
If you would like to find our more information about us or this blog, you can click here.
Last year we began renovating our very builder grade home into a home that fit us better and where we wanted to stay for a while. We are still finalizing some of the rooms and I will be featuring the before and afters soon. Today, I will be sharing our living room, dining room, family room, kitchen and sneak peek at our mud room and our older daughter’s bedroom redo.
I will leave the writing pretty much at that since there are so many pictures. Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have.
A sneak peek, there is a pocket door into the newly formed mudroom from the kitchen. This used to be one bay of our garage.
There is a more detailed post of the before and after photos of our kitchen here.
We have been working on updating our 10 year old daughter’s bedroom since it was still decorated as it was when she was a baby. We have a few more things to finish up, but here is a sneak peak. I am hoping to have finished photographs within the next week or two.
Thank you so very much for stopping by. Since I am the last stop on the tour, I can’t send you to the next house. However, if you click on the button below, it will bring you back to the first house and you can click through the whole Parade of Homes. There are some really lovely homes to visit, so please take a few moments and go through the tour.
Have a great day!
Take care,

Yours is the second burlap table runner that I have seen today, and I LOVE that idea. Thanks for giving us a peek into your gorgeous home!
Your home is *gorgeous*. Thanks so much for the home tour
Absolutely beautiful and cozy nest. Love it all!
Your home is so lovely, it is hard to picture that it once was just builder grade as it now appears totally custom. I am particularly intrigued with your mud room. I have toyed with the idea of ‘borrowing’ part of our large 2 car garage, for a laundry/pantry/ room so it is nice to see how it might work out.
I love everything about your home. It is so warm, welcomeing and comfortable. It looks like a home perfect for a happy active family. It’s so different to see it all together like this. It just flows from room to room. I especially love the library feel of the living room and of course your kitchen is so bright and beautiful. Just perfect!

Love your home-it was my favorite on the tour. Thanks for sharing such a beautiful home with the blog world.
Laura, you home is just lovely! Though I am thankful for our new kitchen, I really wanted it to be white, like yours. I see you have a mix of white and cherry wood. The next time hubby is out of town, I am going to paint the cabinets and leave the island cherry, like yours.
Thank you for sharing your gorgeous home with us. It is so cozy with the mixes of the whites and woods.
I love your living room, especially the “library.” Did you build that in yourself? I have a weird little alcove in my great room that I’ve contemplated putting a high console table with bar-stools, or putting in custom shelving… your living room definitely makes a case for the latter
One of my favorite homes!! I love everything you’ve done. I’ll be studying these pictures, for sure. Thank you for having us in your home.
What a lovely home! I like the kitchen best of all. All those dreamy soothing creams, and so light, airy and calm. A serene domicile.
Rose
