I have long been a fan of Becky, of Farmgirl Paints and her beautiful turquoise vintage truck on her table.
I have long been looking for my own, but I have yet to find one.
Until the other day, I found one, in my living room!
On our bookcase was my husband’s truck from when he was a boy.
So this afternoon I pulled out a vintage box I found at Brimfield, and paid Becky the sincerest form of flattery – imitation.
And it is extra special since it was my husbands.
And it just goes to show you – sometimes what you are looking for is right in front of you, you just can’t see it!

love it! hmmm, I have a vintage truck like that too….perhaps I’ll now imitate yours =)
Great truck and arrangement
Such a fun arrangement! Especially since it has family history. A number of years ago I gave away two old rusty trucks that belonged to my husband. (And yes, I have been regretting that for the past year or so.). Fortunately, I did save a large metal semi-truck since it was in better condition. I’m able to appreciate it now. Beautiful tablescape, Laura!
Love it! Love it! Love it! I think I may too pay Becky some homage. And, thanks to your blog, I now also have been enjoying her blog. Thanks Laura
Love it and even more special as your husband played with it as a child.
Really interesting info, thanks for sharing.
Honey I imitate you all the time! You are my greatest inspiration. I love the truck idea and love what you did with the shelf in your bedroom. Lovely!
xoxo,
Kim
p.s. Oh how I wish you lived closer! You could come to my show! I just know you would love it – there are so many creative vendors there.
Great Info!!! thanks for share
The little old truck made a sweet table centerpiece. Just LOVE it.. I enjoy using old toys too but don’t have an awesome truck like that.

Timeless Treasures
Hi Laura,
I just stopped by to say thanks for visiting my Blog. I love this table scape with the vintage truck. I’m going to have to show it to my friend Erin at Just Grand. We bought one for her cottage at the flea market earlier this year. Great idea!
Hi! Erin here, from Just Grand. Thanks to Kim (from County Line Road, above) for sending me a link to your post. I love what you have done with the vintage truck and I may have to get busy and copy your idea too! Here is a link to a post I wrote about my truck… http://justgrandeko.blogspot.ca/2012/05/grand-guest-room.html
I plan to use the truck in our family Christmas card this year, too.
Thanks for sharing!
