I am so excited today to be part of the Christmas Tree Hop being hosted by Angela of Unexpected Elegance.
I decided to share a “non-traditional” tree today!
This year, the white tree is in Peanut’s room, it is her turn.
I wanted to make a tree that would make her happy – but had my “twist” on it as well.
And nothing is more my “twist” than to throw in some vintage elements mixed with new.
And nothing is more her than lots of fun color.
I have collected a lot of vintage glass ornaments over the years, but I have never done a whole tree in them.
The globes are made from stress balls with an ornament hangers looped in.
I had some silver foil reflectors that I filled with map cutouts with glitter details added.
This one highlights some of our favorite places to visit.
There is a small globe at the top.
The garland is made from ribbon with vintage word game letters.
I love the mix of the different shapes, colors and sizes.
I wasn’t sure if I was going to have enough letter so get this far into the song and I was so pleased when I did.
I added a few varieties of “Joy” ornaments as well.
On the cabinet behind, I grouped a few globes and her collections of items her Dad has brought back for her from his trips throughout the world.
If you would like to see our full holiday home tour, please visit here.
Please stop by the rest of the “stops on the hop” and visit their lovely trees!
What about you – do have a traditional tree? More than one tree?
I am sharing my joyful tree over at
Thanks for reading!

Peanut is lucky to be waking up with the tree in her room. The globe ornaments are such a nifty idea.
What a fun idea! I have a “themed” tree in every room (yes, I’m one of those people), but I add a little something different each year. Thanks for sharing!
Love, love, love the white tree! So much that I bought one to put up this year. Found some red lights on a white strand. Now all I need is the time to do it. I love your vintage ornaments. I walked into a thrift shop in a tiny Texas town and found 3 boxes of shiny brite ornaments for 25 cents each, they were $15 a box at the antique store! Illove all the colors and your garland and everything about your tree, especially the red bell ornament. JOY TO THE WORLD!
What a fun colorful tree to have in her room!! I love it. I have a traditional tree. Last year a mish mash of store bought and home made ornaments. This year, we just dug thru and used mostly store bought and only a few homemade and tried to stick with the gold, cream/white and red theme. My girl has a little purple tree in her room and my boy has a small tree in his room this year using some of those small home made ornaments.
Love the vintage ornaments. Looks lovely.

Laura, I love how it came out. I especially love the garland. My girls would be super excited to have a tree in their room like this…you have a lucky daughter!
Thanks for all your help with this and patience…it takes a village.
Hugs,
Angela
I am in love! Those letters are amazing and I’m all over the globe theme! Will you be my mommy?
Kelly
Adorable, I am sure she loves it!
I’m not letting my daughter see this post or she will beg and plead for her very own Christmas tree in her room! I love it!

This is a beautiful tree! I love the vintage look, I love the bright colors & I think the globe tree topper is so clever!
I love your Christmas tree! Funny – I never did like white Christmas tree, but when I saw yours…I now do.
This is so fun! I can’t even pick a favorite part – ok maybe the stress balls, cuz that is just so genius
Your tree came out so beautiful! Love it – I fell in love with white christmas trees last year. Just love how the colors pop off the white. Merry Chrismas!
Great originality Laura. I love your white joy tree almost as much as the toolbox tree.
I have just one – traditional – and always change the theme every year. This year will be, hopefully, burlap and lace and few old gold accents. (hopefully because I’m not sure how lace will hang on the tree…
I love all details in yours, specially the globe balls… I’d never seen so I’m in awe.
Great Job, Mum!
And heaven and nature sang aloud when they saw this tree!!!….Beautiful, creative tree Laura!…
I have about 13 trees…the larger trees are the sentimental ones..with ornaments collected over many, many years!
I so love Christmas….brings so much joy to my heart!
That is the most delicious tree I’ve ever seen!!! GORGEOUS!!! If you get a chance, I’d love for you to stop by The Tuesday To Do Party and link up!
