Woke up at 6:45 to the sound of my toilet filling with water.
Such a beautiful sound.
The sound of the electricity coming back on.
Three days out.
We were told to be prepared to not get it to Saturday.
Now that I can see the news and get on the computer I realize how lucky we are that our biggest problem was no power for three days.
I should get right back to work and post something creative and clever.
Instead…
I am going to be thankful for our neighbors who all helped each other out finding generators to empty their basements of water, who pooled together meals for three days and for the continuous pitcher of White Sangria that was added to like Stone Soup to last for several days.
I am going to get ready to pull together a birthday party for Peanut that we were pretty sure was going to be canceled.
I am going to enjoy the last few days before school starts.
And lets face it, I am going to be doing a lot of laundry!

So glad to hear that you made it through the storm okay, Laura! It’s a total bummer to be w/out power for any length of time. We lost ours for four days (three times this summer!), and it truly makes you appreciate the simple flicking of a switch and the flush of the loo! lol!
